"We believe that God and the child have a unique relationship with one another...that growth of this relationship should be assisted by the adult, but is directed by the Spirit of God; that children need their own place to foster the growth of that relationship" (cgsusa.org). We are delighted to offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program at the Church of the Resurrection and at Resurrection School so our children can grow in their relationship with God in a very unique, hands-on way.

If your child is enrolled in Resurrection School, they will participate in levels I, II, and III of the CGS program with their class during school hours. Children in the school prepare for First Holy Communion using the CGS First Communion program.
If you are a parishioner at the Church of the Resurrection interested in CGS and have children who are not enrolled in our school, we offer a Level I and a Level II session.
CGS FOR PARISH FAMILIES
For parish families whose children are NOT enrolled in Resurrection School, we offer the following CGS classes. The classes follow the school calendar, so there are no classes over holidays or the summer.
Level I
Ages 3-5 years old, Pre-K to Kindergarten (children must be potty trained)
Every Tuesday & Thursday for the 2023-2024 year, 1:30pm-2:50pm (Starting in late September)
Level II
Ages 6-9 years old, Grades 1-3
Every Wednesday, 1:30pm-3:00pm
Registration: classes for 2023-2024 are now full.
Payment: Once you have registered, you can pay online, or you can drop off or mail a check for your registration fee at the parish office. Fees to cover the cost of materials and resources are as follows:
1 Child - $125.00
2+ Children - $225.00
Scholarships are available as we never want finances to be a reason someone does not register.
If your children attend Resurrection School, they will have a weekly Catechesis encounter as part of their school program so they do not need to register for these courses.
