Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

"We believe that God and the child have a unique relationship with one another...that growth of this relationship should be assisted by the adult, but is directed by the Spirit of God; that children need their own place to foster the growth of that relationship" ( We are delighted to offer the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program at the Church of the Resurrection and at Resurrection School so our children can grow in their relationship with God in a very unique, hands-on way.

Please watch this short video as it offers a glimpse into how children learn in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program.

If your child is enrolled in Resurrection School, they will participate in levels I, II, and III of the CGS program with their class during school hours. Children in the school prepare for First Holy Communion using the CGS First Communion program.

If you are a parishioner at the Church of the Resurrection interested in CGS and have children who are not enrolled in our school, we offer a Level I and a Level II session.

For parish families whose children are NOT enrolled in Resurrection School, we offer the following CGS classes. Classes begin the week of September 27, 2021. The classes follow the school calendar, so there are no classes over holidays or the summer.

The cost for the 2021-2022 school year is $130 per child or $250 per family (2 or more children). There are scholarships are available.
