Learn more about this great marriage retreat!

Living in Love is an exciting day-and-a-half, parish-based retreat workshop designed to energize the romance and renew the joy of being in love through a practical application of John Paul II’s Theology of the Body.

The retreat takes place in the parish hall, and consists of ten talks over the course of Saturday and Sunday, given by parish couples, trained by the Pastoral and Matrimonial Renewal Center. They share personally from their own lives in order to illustrate the content of each exercise with practical, relevant, and inspirational real-life examples that set the level of openness for the participants. The talks are followed by couple and small-group discussions. Each exercise ends with a very brief communal prayer for the practical grace needed to be a better husband or wife. Topics include: the different ways men and women prefer to express and receive intimacy, effects on our marriage from our upbringing, and the culture we live in, as well as our own history of loving (or failing to love) each other over the course of our married life. Couples are sent home Saturday evening with a delightful homework assignment. Sunday’s talks are designed to help couples build deeper love and intimacy into their marriages.

Living in Love provides an extraordinary opportunity for married couples to reconnect with their own love history while gaining a joyful sense of hope, purpose and direction for the future. The weekend is powerfully effective for couples of all ages but has special appeal and popularity among young and even newlywed couples. The action-oriented, commonsense, thinking adult approach is refreshingly “male” friendly.

Whether you’ve been married for four months or 40 years, we are confident that Living in Love can show you new ways to take hold of the grace of the Sacrament of Matrimony.

Even if you already have a strong marriage, Living in Love can show you ways to take your love for each other to places you’ve never anticipated. Our consistent feedback is that husbands particularly enjoy Living in Love. We would eagerly encourage any married couples, no matter how long or how briefly you’ve been married, even if you already count your marriage as a strong one, to come on the Living in Love retreat, and see what God might have for your marriage that you hadn’t thought of before.
