This course explores the ways in which good spiritual reading can enhance our life of faith, draw us closer to God and inspire us to greater love of neighbor. It provides a rationale for why reading spiritual works should be a regular part of our growth in the Christian life and why it is indispensable that we feed our minds with the things of God. It also provides practical guidelines for what to read and how to read it and recommends an approach that is aimed at spiritual growth and not merely a cerebral exercise.
Our Speaker for the course is Dr. John Yocum. Dr. Yocum has a Doctorate in Theology from The University of Oxford. He has taught Theology at Oxford, at Loyola School of Theology in Manila and currently teaches at the Sacred Heart Catholic Seminary in Detroit, Michigan.
